The El Paso Institute of Chess (EPIC) is a non-profit corporation organized and operated for charitable and educational purposes including:

1) to promote the game of chess

2) to broaden and develop chess as a learning tool, as art and recreation, and as a significant element of culture in El Paso, Texas

3) and to cooperate with schools, colleges, hospitals, military bases, community centers, r

ecreation departments, and other groups and institutions, in teaching chess, conducting tournaments, and other activities
