Matthew 19:21: Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow Me.”

Mark 1:16-20: And as He walked by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him. When He had gone a little farther from there, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets. And immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after Him.

The emphasis here is when Jesus calls, there is nothing to think about, follow Him.

The ambition of the Latin Orthodox Benedictine Fathers is derived from Hieromonk Seraphim & Father Herman in the mountains of California, they stated.
1. To live monastic life as much as possible in the tradition of the Orthodox desert-dwellers of all centuries, and in particular of those nearest to us in time,… like them to flee from the world and all worldly understanding, in mutual obedience, in deprivation, cutting off each other’s will and forcing each other on the narrow path that leads to salvation…
2. To be constantly nourished spiritually by the Lives and writings of the Holy Fathers of the Orthodox Church, to translate, be instructed by and apply these writings to daily life.
3. To make known to all who thirst for it this Patristic Orthodox teaching and to encourage and inspire others to base their Christian lives on this foundation.
