Saturday, May 29, 2021: Most of the area will be dry today, but there is a chance for isolated severe storms in Hudspeth county and the far east portions of Otero county. Main hazards: gusty winds & large hail. Currently, we are not expecting expecting severe storms in El Paso, but there is a very low chance for showers and thunderstorms later this afternoon and evening.

Remember heat affects your pets too! Be sure they have plenty of water available & a space to cool off. Never leave them in parked cars & remember that the pavement gets VERY hot during these warm temperatures. The hot pavement can quickly burn their feet & cause injury! Try to walk in the morning or closer to sunset when the pavement is a bit cooler. A tip is to hold your hand on the pavement & if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.

We hope you like the heat because it's coming in full force over the next several days. Temperatures will warm a bit each day, possibly reaching the 100 degree mark in El Paso by the end of the week. Be sure to keep you & pets hydrated & cool!
