Ryan Woodcraft, alleged Libertarian, was presented with a challenge regarding the constitutionality of HB 1481, authorizing confiscation of students' personal property without due process. In my opinion, the SISD Board of Trustees, by voting in favor, have identified themselves as domestic enemies of the US Constitution, violating children's rights. Let us remember this when voting for any of these trustees and strive for a brighter future where every child's rights are protected and valued.

As mid-term elections approach, it's essential to verify that our elected officials are fulfilling their duties. We can check current statistics on websites like BallotReady or VoteSmart to ensure they align with our expectations. If not, we must research alternative candidates who can effectively represent our interests.

Take a look at the budget. Most of the city’s revenue comes from the citizens by way of “charges for services” and “fines and forefeitures”.

So the city of El Paso funds itself with your tax dollars for services like (Parks & Rec, and EPPD) just to name a couple.

Parks & Rec as a department was funded by taxpayer money, to include fields and parks. Yet, El Pasoans are charged to use those parks after already paying for them to be built. Thats like buying a car but having to rent it from the dealership to use it. This deserves scrutiny.

EPPD routinely breaks the law by parking illegally to “catch speeders”. There is currently a case in the court about this very issue. Police are funded (at least partially) by taxpayers. We have been paying them to violate the law and collect fines from us. Approximately 16% of the city’s revenue is from fines and forefeiture. This also deserves scrutiny.

In many instances, we are paying for the same thing twice. We are paying for the park to be built, then paying to use them. We are funding a police force, then being fined by them to sustain themselves. We need to speak with our city council about this. We are being preyed on by the very government we are employing. Below is the city budget. Take a look for yourself.

We have to make our voice heard! Lets !

Cesar Blanco’s office has shared some remarkable information with us. The citizens rely on legislation to serve their interests and it is crucial that the process is efficient. However, out of the 140 days allocated for passing legislation, 60 days are not utilized for hearing legislation, resulting in inefficiency and the citizens being deprived of beneficial laws. To change this, an amendment to the Texas Constitution is required. As voters, we cannot dictate decisions but we can hold our representatives accountable for their actions with our vote. I have requested Senator Blanco to provide his position on the amendment in writing and we will share it once we receive it. We will also be connected with the 75th District Representative to obtain their stance on the issue and share their response…

City Council rep is running for mayor. This is problematic because she has not demonstrated competence at the City Council level. We met with her to address an issue that is still unresolved. She has resigned her current position to run for mayor. Her commitment was not fulfilled until 2027. We can’t say she’s abandoning District 5 because she was never making an impact. At almost the halfway point of her second term, she has no significant accomplishments to speak of. Yet, she is neglecting her original commitment and attempting to make us believe she would now be a committed mayor. The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior. Ms. Salcido has not resolved constituents’ issues, has an abysmal voting record on property taxes, has potentially mismanaged her personal business and has received a default judgment, and quit her post without fulfilling her commitment to the constituents she made promises to in exchange for their votes. Objectively speaking, what has she done to earn our vote? The only thing that has changed since she took office is the 3 property tax increases she voted for.

Take a look at her voting record https://elpasotaxpayerrevolt.com/rep-isabel-salcidos-horrific-voting-record/
