Day 4 of for our Parents as Teachers program! Here's what Marilyn has to say about being a home visitor 🫶

"My favorite part of the service I provide is being able to help families and their children grow in different aspects of their lives and to be able to provide helpful resources. Providing beneficial information to help both parents and children learn new things is my favorite part of being a part of this program. One of the most rewarding aspects of the service I provide is the opportunity to support families and their children as they grow and develop in various areas of their lives. It brings me great joy to play a role in their journey whether it's through emotional support, educational guidance, or simply being a reliable resource they can count on. I’m passionate about sharing valuable tools and information that empower both parents and children to learn, thrive, and build stronger connections with one another. Watching their progress and knowing that I’ve contributed to their personal and developmental growth is truly the most fulfilling part of being involved in this program."

Give Marilyn a round of applause for giving back to our community 👏

Day 2 of for our Parents as Teachers program! Here's what Diana has to say about being a home visitor 🫶

"A few years ago, I made the decision not to have children of my own. It wasn’t an easy choice, but I knew that my career path would still allow me to be around kids. Becoming a parent educator has truly been a breath of fresh air. Before this role, I was working at a middle school, and it was starting to take a toll on my mental health. While I was excited to begin doing home visits, I was also nervous. I had always worked directly with children, but not with their parents—so I knew this would be a new challenge. Still, I felt confident that it was something I could overcome. I remember feeling so anxious before my very first visit; I stayed up all night rehearsing, trying to prepare answers for every question a parent might ask.

But after that first visit, I realized that what these families really needed was honesty and genuine support. It didn’t have to be perfect—I just had to show up and be present. Now, three months into doing home visits, each one has been a positive experience. I’ve formed some amazing connections, especially with my younger families, and I’m truly grateful for the relationships we’ve built."

Give Diana a round of applause for giving back to our community 👏

On this National Women's Day, we celebrate the incredible women who play the dual role of both parent and teacher. They are shaping the future, one lesson at a time, and nurturing the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and change-makers.

The love, dedication, and guidance that mothers, grandmothers, and female caregivers provide are foundational to a child's growth and learning. Whether through formal education or everyday moments, these women impart invaluable lessons — from resilience and compassion to determination and creativity.

Today, let’s honor their selfless contributions and recognize how the love and wisdom of parents as teachers are shaping the world around us. Thank you for your endless patience, your unwavering belief in your children's potential, and your unshakable commitment to their future.
