This is what PTA legacy looks like.
Here is the Ben Milam PTA 2026-2027 first Community Revitalization Committee project of the school year.
These benches were donated to Milam by the 2000–2001 PTA. More than 25 years later, they are still here—still serving our students, families, and school community.
That’s an important reminder that the work we do through PTA doesn’t end when the school year does. Every contribution matters. Every project, every volunteer hour, every investment in our school has the potential to serve students and families for years to come.
And each year isn’t only about creating something new. Sometimes our responsibility is to look at what is already in front of us, recognize the investment made by those who came before us, and take care of it so it can continue serving the next generation.
Over a weekend, our volunteers contributed more than 100 hours combined to breathe new life into these benches. They cleaned, repaired, sanded, painted, and restored something another group of PTA volunteers gave our school more than two decades ago.
To the 2000–2001 PTA: your contribution is still making a difference.
And to every volunteer who gave their time this weekend: thank you for carrying that legacy forward.
That’s PTA! Generations of families showing up, taking care of our school, and leaving something better for those who come next.
