Today, officers and recruits from the proudly participated in the 40th Anniversary Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Southern California!
Our team was honored to receive the Flame of Hope from the Baldwin Park Police Department before carrying it through our community and handing it off to the Monrovia Police Department, who will continue the journey toward the Arcadia Police Department.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is more than a relay—it is a powerful tradition that unites law enforcement agencies across the state in support of the incredible athletes of Special Olympics Southern California. For 40 years, officers have carried the Flame of Hope to raise awareness, inspire communities, and champion inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
With only one day remaining, the torch is making its final journey toward the Special Olympics Southern California Summer Games Opening Ceremonies this Saturday in Long Beach, where thousands of athletes, families, volunteers, and supporters will gather to celebrate determination, courage, and achievement.
A huge thank you to all the agencies, volunteers, supporters, and athletes who make this tradition possible. We are proud to stand alongside our law enforcement partners and carry the Flame of Hope forward.
