Good morning from The El Mirage OHV Recreation Area. The Lakebed is open. NO DONUTS, DRIFTING, OR SPINNING ON THE LAKEBED.

OHV trails and camping areas are open. We do not accept reservations. Our camping areas all have a picnic table with shade, a campfire pit and BBQ pit. We are a PACK IT IN / PACK IT OUT area so please take everything home with you including your trash. We have no hookups so please bring plenty of water with you when visiting our area.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Good morning from The El Mirage OHV Recreation Area.

Today: Areas of blowing dust after 5pm. Sunny, with a high near 69. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Tonight: Areas of blowing dust before 8pm. Mostly clear, with a low around 39. West wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

The lakebed might look dry… but looks can be deceiving.

When it’s holding moisture underneath, that surface turns soft fast-and tire tracks turn into deep ruts that can stick around for years.
At high speeds, those ruts aren’t just rough… they’re dangerous.

If we let you know the lakebed is closed, stay off it.
You’ll be helping to keep the lakebed smooth, fast, and safe for everyone.

Good morning for The El Mirage OHV Recreation Area. No Drifting, Donuts or Spinning on the lakebed. Helmets required when riding in our area.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 67. Breezy, with a south wind 5 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 42. South wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Please bring water with you and stay hydrated! Temperatures are rising. Helmets are required while riding in our area.

NO DONUTS! NO DRIFTING!
Donuts and drifting on the lakebed might seem harmless...but they leave behind deep ruts that can take years to heal.

Those ruts turn into serious hazards for anyone traveling at high speed. What feels fun in the moment can put someone else at risk later.

Respect the lakebed.
Keep it smooth. Keep it safe.

It’s happening! A big Thank You to all of you that donated to get us new windsock poles. Three new poles have been installed so please be aware when you are on the lakebed. The lakebed is CLOSED due to rain right now, but be aware this project is happening.
The poles are located at the following locations:
Access Road 1 at the lakebed exit, Restroom 2, and Restroom 3.

Good morning from The El Mirage OHV Recreation Area. The lakebed is currently CLOSED due to the recent rains. We still have over 23,000 acres to ride and camp. Please stay off the lakebed so it can dry in its smooth and natural condition.
