All FACT locations will be closed next week, July 20, 2026-July 24, 2026. The Central Office in El Dorado will be closed for painting. The EHS classrooms will be on their Annual break. Following that week, staff will be training and preparing for classrooms to reopen.

We hope our staff have a wonderful break and we look forward to seeing our children and families when school starts back in August!!

FREE breakfast and lunch will be available for all children 18 and younger — no registration or application needed. Just show up and enjoy!

Sixty-one years ago, Head Start started as an 8-week summer program. Eight weeks. The idea was modest by design, a way to see if reaching kids early could make a difference.

It made a difference.

What grew from those first summers is now one of the longest-running early childhood programs in American history, serving families in cities, rural towns, tribal communities, and migrant farmworker camps alike. Forty million children and counting.

Today we mark 61 years — not just with pride, but with real gratitude for the teachers, family advocates, nurses, and parents who do this work every single day.
