Meet Betsy Lewis, Our Magnolia Center Coordinator!
I’m Betsy Lewis, and I am so thankful to have the privilege of serving as the Coordinator for the Hannah Center in Magnolia.
I have been married to my husband, Carl Jones, for almost 14 years. We will celebrate our anniversary on August 25th! Together, we have seven adult children and 22 grandchildren, ranging in age from 14 months to 27 years. Family is a huge blessing in our lives!
Earlier this year, after surviving a brain stem hemorrhage, I found myself praying about what God might have for me to do next. I wanted something that would challenge my mind, give me purpose, and allow me to serve others.
Then I opened an email from the Hannah Center looking for someone to work two days a week as the Magnolia Center Coordinator. It sounded perfect. And it has been.
Since beginning this job in April, I have fallen in love with the ministry and with the young women God has brought through the doors of our center. I am continually amazed at the stories they share, the needs they bring, and the opportunities we have to come alongside them with practical resources, encouragement, and, most importantly, the hope of Jesus Christ.
God has showered me with Mercy and Grace. He has reminded me again and again that He is a Good, Good Father, and I am so grateful that He allowed my journey to lead me here.
One of my favorite passages of Scripture is Philippians 4:4-9: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
That passage has become especially meaningful to me. God has been faithful through every season, and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve Him by serving these young women and their babies. What a blessing it is to be exactly where God has placed me.
