Good morning!! Today is the day we donate bicycles to Numana. We will be meeting at Post 81 at 7:45am to go to Walmart to pick up the bicycles, and then out to Numana for the donation. I will be there!

Welcome to December! The Christmas season is upon us, and as such, we have a busy holiday season schedule. Tomorrow, December 2nd, at 5:30pm is the holiday parade downtown. The Ladies Auxiliary meeting is on Dec. 13th. We will be having a Secret Santa gift exchange and a potluck. Bring an unlabeled gift, $10 maximum cost, and a covered dish. There is no hostess for December’s meeting. The Canteen Christmas party is Saturday, Dec. 16th with live music from 7-11pm. Bring a holiday snack to share! I am marking my first year in the books with Post 81, and I hope the next 50 are just as good, filled with fun, friends, and family!

Wednesday, November 29th, I will be heading to the bingo hall around 3:30pm to start with Christmas decorations. If you would like to help, please come by! I think getting the tree decorated for the first bingo weekend in December would bring a festive mood to our bingo nights! I hope to see some friendly faces excited for the upcoming Christmas season, and if you can’t make it, no worries!

Last nights dinner had an amazing turnout! Unfortunately I couldn’t stay, but I’m so glad with the things I have heard about the dinner thus far. I’m so happy we had such an amazing turnout! Thank you to everyone who volunteered to decorate, cook, and in my absence, clean up. I wish I could have stayed!

Good morning friends and family!! Tonight is our post Thanksgiving Dinner. This is a time for our post family to get together, eat good food, have good conversations, spend some time together. Kevin Monroe, the orchestra teacher for El Dorado Schools, is graciously providing tonights entertainment. This dinner couldn’t have been possible without the volunteers who have given their time selflessly. I will be at the Legion at 5 today finishing up the table decorations and getting the kitchen ready for those who need it. Dinner starts at 6:30pm, with the entertainment directly following the meal. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it!

Selfless sacrifices made for the betterment of this great nation is what today is all about. Thank a veteran, thank their families. Happy Veterans Day to all who served honorably.

Staging has begun for the Celebration of Freedom parade at Gordy Park. I am standing by the basketball court on the east side of the park. Auxiliary members who are walking need to meet me here to check out your umbrella! Dress for the weather, as it is damp and there is a chill in the air.
