Another one of this months panelists is Ronda Freeman Plummer. She serves as the DeSoto District Executive, supporting the mission of Scouting America to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes. In her role, she works alongside volunteers, community partners, and local organizations to strengthen Scouting programs, expand access to youth, and promote character development, family connections, leadership, and outdoor adventure across the DeSoto district.
Ronda’s commitment to Scouting runs deep personally as well as professionally—she's married to Ranger Bill at Camp DeSoto and is the proud parent of an Eagle Scout, reflecting her family’s strong connection to the values and traditions of Scouting America.

Please meet Shaytra Bridges, she is on this months panel for the topic Fatherhood Defined: The Power of Presence, Not Just Genetics. She is the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator for FACT, Inc. and has proudly served the agency for 27 years. She began her journey with the organization as a parent in the HIPPY/Head Start program and has since dedicated her career to supporting children and families through early childhood education. Throughout her years of service, she has worked as a home educator, Early Head Start teacher, and program manager at Fairview Head Start.

She earned an associate degree from South Arkansas Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech University. In 2015, she was honored as the Arkansas Early Head Start Teacher of the Year in recognition of her dedication and impact in early childhood education. Shaytra is passionate about strengthening family and community partnerships and helping every child reach their fullest potential.

She believes that every child’s success begins with strong relationships, committed educators, and empowered families. Shaytra continues to be inspired by the children and families she serves and encourages others to never underestimate the power of education, perseverance, and community. Her message is simple: when we invest in children and support one another, we build a brighter future for everyone.

❤️ Community is at its best when we come together to support one another. ❤️

A huge thank you to CarePortal and Nick Sappenfield from Westside Baptist Church for partnering with us to bless a sweet young family that simply needed a little extra love and support during a challenging season.

Because of their generosity, this family received a couch for their new apartment and a crib with a mattress so their precious 4-month-old daughter can have a safe place to sleep of her own.

This young family is working hard to build a better future. The husband faithfully walks to and from work every day to provide for his family. His shoes were worn out from the miles he travels, but thanks to the kindness of our community, he was also blessed with a new pair of tennis shoes. Thanks to an El Dorado First Assembly church member, he was also gifted a sturdy pair of steel-toe work boots.

These gifts are more than furniture and shoes—they are reminders that this family is seen, valued, and supported. They have felt the love of a community that believes in them and is cheering them on as they continue moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who makes moments like this possible. Together, we are bringing hope, encouragement, and practical support to families who are working hard to create a brighter future.
