***FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS EXPIRED***

A Flash Flood/Debris Flow Warning has been issued for the Caldor Fire. Heavy rain is starting to move in and this will cause debris flows within the Caldor Fire.

Effective at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021 the burn suspension will be lifted. Debris burning will be allowed with valid burn permit. Always call the burn status number right before burning as conditions can change. See the News Release for more information.

If you are in the vicinity of a recent burn scar and haven't already, PREPARE NOW for likely debris flows. If you are told to evacuate by local officials, or you feel threatened, DO NOT HESITATE to do so. If it is too late to evacuate, get to higher ground.

**Do it yourself Sandbag Stations in the greater Grizzly Flat and Mount Aukum area**

Sandbag stations are open now, until the end of the weather event on Tuesday. Stations will be open from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm everyday. The following locations will be available to people affected by the Caldor Fire, or downstream from the burn area. These are do it yourself, bring your own shovel stations.

4837 Sciaroni Road in Grizzly Flats
Station 38, 7061 Mount Aukum Road,
and
Station 32, 4470 Sandridge Road.

Along with heavy rain and flooding potential, gusty winds are expected Sunday. Wind gusts up to 45 mph could cause blowing debris, downed tree branches, and localized power outages.

NEW: there is now a MODERATE to HIGH risk⚠️ of Excessive Rainfall for many of NorCal's recent burn areas.

⏲️ Heaviest rain early Sunday AM through Sunday night
🌧️2-5" storm total in Valley, 4-12"+ in foothills/mountains

Snow levels will start off very high around 8,500 to 10,000 ft, and will not lower until late Sunday/early Monday. As a result, rain will fall at the higher elevations when precipitation is forecast to be at peak intensity.

Live near or downstream of a recent burn scar? Have an evacuation plan ready if you need to leave!
