It is with heavy hearts that we remember George Calhoun, one of our dedicated Volunteer Drivers in Bates County, who passed away on August 14th.

George was much more than a driver. He was a friend, a helper, and a bright spot in the day for so many people. His passion for serving others was evident in everything he did. When George had a regular rider, he made it his mission to ensure they got where they needed to be. He would often double check appointment schedules and make sure their transportation was arranged because he truly cared about the people he served.

George also had a special gift for bringing joy to others. He had an endless supply of funny stories, and it was nearly impossible to get off the phone with him without sharing a laugh. His sense of humor, kindness, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

George will be deeply missed by our staff, fellow volunteers, and especially by the riders whose lives he touched through his compassion and dedication. We are grateful for the time we had with him and for the countless ways he made a difference in our community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with George's family and friends during this difficult time. His legacy of service, kindness, and laughter will not be forgotten. ❀️

Thank you, George, for all the lives you touched and the smiles you shared.

🐾❀️ National Dog Day Spotlight: Don & Loki ❀️🐾This National Dog Day, we're honored to celebrate the incredible bond between our volunteer driver Don and his loyal companion, Loki.

After losing his wife to cancer a few years ago, Don faced one of life's greatest challenges. Through that difficult journey, Loki became much more than a pet. As Don's emotional support dog, he has provided comfort, companionship, and unwavering support every step of the way.

These days, Loki isn't just waiting at home for Don to return. He often rides along on volunteer trips, serving as Don's trusted co-pilot and bringing smiles to everyone they meet. Together, they help neighbors stay connected to medical appointments, essential services, and their communities.

At our organization, we are committed to supporting individuals of all abilities. We understand how important service animals can be in helping people maintain their independence, safety, and well-being. That's why we're proud to accommodate passengers who travel with their service animals, ensuring they can access the transportation they need with confidence and dignity.

Don and Loki remind us that transportation is about more than getting from one place to another. It's about connection, compassion, independence, and support.

Thank you, Don, for your dedication to serving others. And thank you, Loki, for being such a loyal friend, co-pilot, and ambassador of joy. πŸΆπŸš—β€οΈ

Early mornings start with a purpose! Before the sun rises, our drivers are already on the road, helping riders get to important early morning doctor appointments. Their dedication, punctuality, and caring attitude help ensure passengers arrive safely and on time for the healthcare services they need.

These trips are more than just transportation. They provide access to essential medical care and offer peace of mind to those who rely on our services. We are proud of our volunteer drivers who willingly start their day before dawn to make a difference in the lives of others.

As demand for transportation continues to grow, so does our need for support. If you would like to help keep this vital service available in our community, please consider making a donation to support the program. Every contribution helps us connect riders with the care and services they need.

We're also looking for compassionate individuals who want to make a meaningful impact. If you have a few hours to spare and a desire to help your neighbors, consider becoming a Volunteer Driver. Your time can make a life-changing difference for someone in need.

❀️ Together, we can keep our community connected.

πŸšπŸ’™ Meet the Team Monday! Meet the friendly faces behind New Growth Transit! Today, we're highlighting Dani Park, Regional Mobility Coordinator.

Dani plays a key role in keeping our transportation services running smoothly. She coordinates rides by matching trip requests with available drivers, ensuring our riders can get where they need to go safely and efficiently.

In addition to scheduling rides, Dani provides support to our drivers by answering questions and assisting with technology when needed. Her willingness to help and problem-solve keeps our drivers equipped and confident on the road.

When she's not coordinating transportation or assisting drivers, Dani works behind the scenes reviewing and attesting rides to support the Driver Reimbursement Program. This important work helps ensure drivers are reimbursed accurately and in a timely manner.

Dani's dedication, organization, and commitment to both our riders and drivers make her an invaluable part of the New Growth Transit team. We are grateful for all she does to help keep our communities connected!

πŸ‘ Help us show Dani some appreciation! Leave a comment below and thank her for the hard work and support she provides every day.
