Some people want the pulpit.
Some want the microphone.
Some want the title.
Some want to be seen.
But when it is time to clean the church,
arrange the chairs,
wipe the pews,
serve behind the scenes,
help the needy, or
do something nobody applauds...
THEY DISAPPEAR.
That exposes something.
You may call it a small ministry.
GOD DOES NOT.
The person preaching to hundreds is serving.
The person cleaning the pews is serving.
The person opening the door is serving.
The person preparing the place before everyone arrives is serving.
The person quietly helping someone who cannot repay them is serving.
MINISTRY IS NOT MEASURED BY HOW MANY PEOPLE SEE YOU.
It is measured by WHOM YOU ARE SERVING.
Jesus said:
“And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:”—Matthew 20:27, kjv
Read that again.
SERVANT.
Not celebrity.
Not superstar.
Not platform personality.
SERVANT...
If your Christianity only looks valuable when people are watching, you are not looking for ministry.
YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ATTENTION. 🤦
The Kingdom of God does not need more people obsessed with being important.
It needs faithful people willing to serve.
Paul said:
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”—Colossians 3:23, kjv
That means the pew you cleaned when nobody thanked you...
GOD SAW IT.
The chair you arranged when nobody noticed...
GOD SAW IT.
The floor you swept...
GOD SAW IT.
The person you helped quietly...
GOD SAW IT.
The work that received no applause...
GOD SAW IT.
So stop saying,
“It is only a small thing.”
If it is done faithfully for Christ,
IT IS NOT SMALL.
Do not despise the ministry that happens behind the scenes.
Because sometimes the person nobody notices is the very person faithfully doing what everybody else is too proud to do.
YOU DO NOT NEED A PLATFORM TO SERVE CHRIST.
You need a willing heart.
SERVE WHERE GOD HAS PLACED YOU.
Serve without applause.
Serve without recognition.
Serve without demanding a title.
Serve because CHRIST IS WORTH SERVING.
And remember:
THE PEW MAY NOT REMEMBER WHO CLEANED IT.
THE PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER WHO HELPED.
THE CROWD MAY NEVER KNOW YOUR NAME.
But GOD SEES.
There is no big ministry and small ministry when the heart is faithfully serving the Lord.
THERE IS ONLY FAITHFUL SERVICE.
