That makes body art practitioners a critical line of defense, and until now, one without training. "California's health curriculum framework shapes what gets taught in every district. AB 1766 builds on the progress of AB 1227, which established California's requirement for human trafficking prevention education in grades 7–12. For 16 years, 3Strands Global Foundation has been bringing prevention education to students, and through our PROTECT program we've seen firsthand what happens when young people are given the language and tools to recognize exploitation. We are thrilled to support expanding this prevention education to K–6 so that students can receive age-appropriate tools and education to recognize and prevent exploitation throughout their K–12 education. Last week we told you about a building in downtown Sacramento where someone can get a hot meal, a shower, a case manager, a path back to work, and an opportunity for us to strengthen the safety of that space.

Today, we can tell you what happened with that opportunity.

Impact 100 Greater Sacramento members voted, and we won in the Health & Wellness category. The $100,000 grant is ours!

It funds the Safe Haven Initiative at The Table: the privacy work that can decide whether someone feels safe enough to come inside at all.

Thank you to every Impact100 member who listened, asked questions, and voted. You just made a building safer for the hundreds of people who walk through it.

Some news we're excited to share: the Break Free Run is going on the road. For years, we laced up close to home. This January, we're bringing Team Break Free to the Rock 'n' Roll Arizona weekend in Tempe and Phoenix, January 16 and 17, 2027.

Same heart, bigger horizon.

Runners of every level are invited to join the team across the 5K, 10K, and half marathon. Every mile helps bring prevention education to classrooms and support survivors as they build strong, independent futures.

There is a building in downtown Sacramento where someone can get a hot meal, a shower, a case manager, and a path back to work.

In its first full year, The Table, our empowerment center for survivors of human trafficking and those at risk of exploitation, provided more than 2,000 services to over 400 survivors. Visits rose 119 percent the year after.

What are we strengthening? Privacy.

Specialized window coverings, secure entry, safety alert tools for staff. Small things that decide whether someone feels safe enough to come inside at all.

That work is the Safe Haven Initiative, and Impact 100 Greater Sacramento has named us one of ten finalists for a $100,000 grant.
