The mission of the Friends of the El Dorado Hills Library, a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization, is to support our community library, its patrons and staff; to fund library and community outreach programs, services and facilities; to enrich the lives of El Dorado Hills residents by advocating the use of our library; and to support our library through fundraising efforts including membership

s, financial gifts, and endowments. All funds raised by the Friends of the El Dorado Hills Library are used for the purchase of books, eBooks, audiobooks, and periodicals; underwrite programs and events for children, youth, and adults; and provide supplies for our 3D Printer Lab.

Amazing statistics showing the success of this program!

Summer Reading Challenge 2025 is officially over, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the results! El Dorado Hills community members collectively read 16,838 books, and also spent another 990,192 minutes (that's nearly 2 years!) reading. Over 6,500 people participated in library events ranging from storytimes to free performances to arts and culture classes.

We saw a 37% increase in SRC participation compared to last year. Studies show that recreational reading is beneficial to mental and physical health for all ages, and helps students to succeed in school, so we couldn't be happier to see the enthusiasm for reading and learning in our community.

Thank you to all who participated, and an extra special thanks to Friends of the El Dorado Hills Library for making this program possible!

Shop the Friends of the EDH Library's Used Book Sale and refresh your book collection. Shoppers can find books in all genres, including children’s books, at only $1 per POUND! All the proceeds go directly to fund the library’s collections, program, and facility.
This sale will be indoors in the Library's Community Room.

LOW PRICING:
$1 per pound for most items, $1 per DVD or CD.
Saturday 2-4 pm is a $5/bag blow-out sale for all items.
Payment is via cash or check only.

MEMBER-ONLY PRESALE:
Friday
12 to 6 p.m.
Membership is available at the door.

The Friends of the Library's Used Book Sales provides funding for a significant portion of the support we channel to the library. This event is completely run by volunteers.

Volunteers Needed
