We are so lucky to have Mia as a mentor and role model in our program!! Mia is serving the San Francisco community with host site 826 Valencia and she has the best reasons for doing a service year - “After finishing four years of college, and understanding what I really want to continue engaging with, I know that working within my community is super important. I think about all the people that inspired me as a young person, and I think about the impact that this support had. I feel ready to be a source of support for young students, and I think it would teach me a lot about my future as an educator.” Well said Mia, we couldn’t be happier to have you a part of our cohort!

She states it best as she shares: “This journey of emotional growth has shaped my ability to connect authentically with people from diverse backgrounds and is one of my greatest strengths.
