❤️🤍💙 Memorial Day ❤️🤍💙

Today, we first and foremost honor and remember the brave women and men who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We are deeply grateful to all military members, veterans, and military families for their courage, sacrifice, and dedication. Their service and the loved ones they carry in their hearts will never be forgotten.

For Soroptimist, Memorial Day also holds a deeper meaning rooted in our organization’s history of service during times of hardship and uncertainty.

During World War II, Soroptimists around the world stepped forward in extraordinary ways. Soroptimists helped rescue members of the SI Vienna club and their families who were threatened by the N**i regime. American Soroptimists gathered funds, clothing, and supplies for families impacted by war, while clubs across Europe met secretly to sew, mend clothing, and prepare essential items for devastated communities. Soroptimists also opened Rest Rooms for women serving in the armed forces and organized refugee relief efforts for people escaping Europe in search of safety and hope.

After witnessing the devastation of war, Soroptimists understood that rebuilding the world also meant ensuring women had a voice in conversations about peace, education, and human rights. In 1948, Soroptimist International Association was awarded Consultative Status with UNESCO, helping establish a global voice advocating for women and girls.

For more than 100 years, Soroptimist has been more than a service club. We are part of a global movement of women helping women through compassion, leadership, advocacy, and action.

Today, we continue honoring that legacy by supporting communities shaped by sacrifice — including military members, veterans, military families, caregivers, and the next generation of women and girls through education, mentorship, empowerment, and opportunity.

As we reflect this Memorial Day, we again extend our deepest gratitude to the brave service members who gave everything for our country, and to the military families who carry their memory forward every day. We remember them. We honor them. And we thank them for their sacrifice. 🇺🇸✨

💙🌷 Happy Mother’s Day 🌷💙
Today, we honor the women whose love becomes the foundation for generations.

The mothers who give endlessly, worry quietly, sacrifice daily, and still somehow find the strength to encourage everyone around them. ✨

At Soroptimist, we know motherhood is not defined by only one path.

It lives in every act of compassion, protection, mentorship, encouragement, and unconditional love.

We celebrate the mothers raising children day in and day out…

But also the tias, grandmothers, sisters, mentors, teachers, coaches, godmothers, foster moms, chosen family, and women who step into nurturing roles with open hearts and steady hands. 💙

We honor the women who become safe places for others.
The women who show up.
Who listen.
Who guide.
Who quietly help others believe in themselves again.

To the women balancing careers, caregiving, volunteer service, and family…
To the women carrying invisible burdens while still pouring love into others…

To those grieving, healing, longing, or learning what motherhood looks like in their own journey… you are seen and deeply valued.

So much of what we do as Soroptimists is rooted in the spirit of women who nurture possibility in others.
Women who remind girls they are powerful.
Women who create opportunities where none existed before.
Women who choose kindness, even when life has been unkind to them.

Thank you for every unseen sacrifice, every word of encouragement, every ride given, every meal prepared, every late-night conversation, every act of love that helped someone keep going.

You are changing lives more than you know.
From all of us at Soroptimist International of El Centro, Happy Mother’s Day. 🌷
Today we celebrate every woman whose love has helped shape a life, a dream, or a future.

✨ THANK YOU FOR HELPING US WRITE OUR NEVERENDING STORY ✨

At some point… two Soroptimist Presidents said:
“Are we going to dress up, get on a flying luckdragon, and post it on the internet for the mission?”

And the answer was…
absolutely. no hesitation. no shame. 😌😂

Because when it comes to empowering women and girls…
we will do what needs to be done. Even if that means sacrificing our dignity for the cause 💁‍♀️✨

And because of YOU—our members, supporters, and community—
this Neverending Story keeps going 💛

✨ Dreams are taking flight
✨ Women are gaining confidence
✨ Futures are being rewritten every single day 💥

So yes… while we may be out here riding Falkor and making questionable content choices…
just know it’s backed by something very real:
a mission that changes lives.

And we’re not done yet 👀

If you want to keep the story going (and keep us gainfully employed as part-time fantasy characters 😭😂):

Your support helps us continue empowering women and girls to live their dreams—without limits 💛

So hop on, hold tight…
and let’s keep this story going—no shame, all heart 😌✨
