Here is a few group photos from last evenings’ Official Visit. We had the honor of having our Worthy Grand Matron Alice Raymond, Past Worthy Grand Matron Sharon Jazwiecki, and our Grand Secretary Tammy Kinzie.
We’re also delighted to have many side-liners, Worhy Matrons from other Chapters, and a full quorum of officers. Our theme was patriotic, red, white, and blue and sparkly. 🦅🇺🇸♥️🤍💙✨✨♥️🤍💙🇺🇸🦅
Our meeting was proceeded by a delicious taco bar everyone helped contribute to with our Conductress Karen organizing. I am thankful to our new member George and Karen for setting up the dining room; to our DGD 🤩Kathe, Treasurer Melissa, and Chaplain Jacque for the set up of the Chapter room; to our Associate Patron Christopher for the putting away of our Chapter and dining room; and to everyone else who came through to pitch in. We are all a definite testament that teamwork makes the dream work.
Please keep Reese Prentiss, Ashley Trosper, Michele Houston, and Julia Rolf in our circle of concern, thoughts, well wishes, prayers and send cards if possible. Thank you. 🙏 💞
Thank you Juanell for your generosity in so many ways and to our General Fund for Flowers of the East.
Alice Raymond’s remarks, a few listed below, were thoughtful, kind and insightful:
- We are #71 of the OV’s which I find super cool since that is the year I was born.
- Exit plan: we need to have a solid exit plan should there ever be an emergency. It is recommended we have flashlights placed under our stations so if the lights go out, we can more safely guide others and ourselves out.
- We were congratulated on our recent initiation of a gentleman.
- Consolidating is difficult but is also to be considered as good when it is for the good of the Chapter(s) also as per our Brother Paul LeCroix. While the number of Chapters has dropped from 106 to 102, there is a promising prospect of three new Chapters being instituted. Ann Shapiro and Art Weiss have been working very diligently on this.
- Alice loved hearing about Kathe’s un-Reception and the AED class. 🫀🫶🏼
- Scepter Chapter is going to consider adopting our Flowers in the East 💐💐
- Grand Reps: last 3 announcements are coming up with a total of 31 appointments this year.
- While we can now have non-Masonic females initiated to our Order, we need to be mindful of carefully vetting them.
- A resolution with Prince Hall is on the horizon. We are welcoming them. They have to vote on us. They hold their business very close to their chest. The common sign among us is the sign of Electa. 💃🌹♥️
- We are encouraged to become life sponsors of the SLC if we are not already. Events held including the SLC Fiesta earned $20K for the SLC. Kat Farris has provided a wish list of where this money can be utilized.
- Next big fundraiser is for the K9 vests on August 30th at Alice’s husband’s facility in Costa Mesa and will have a catered meal by Stonefire Grill, an auction, music, and for $5 you can throw pie at our WGM. 🐕🦺🥧
✨Our NEXT Chapter meeting is Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025 ast 7:30pm and is our Past Grand Matron and Patrons with a fun theme of tie-dye, your fave music, and 70s. Betty Ruth is helping to organize. Juanell, Jacque and Kathe have signed up for dining/refreshments to be held after the meeting.
