Since 2002, License to Freedom has been a place where immigrants and refugees can find safety, healing, opportunity, and hope.

Every year, we support approximately 200 survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking and 300 mental and behavioral health clients; but we know there are still many people suffering in silence, afraid or unsure of where to turn.

For refugees and immigrants rebuilding their lives, trauma can be compounded by language barriers, isolation, financial hardship, cultural stigma, and the challenges of starting over in a new country.

That’s why our work goes beyond one service.

From safe shelter and mental health care to housing, employment, legal support, youth programs, and English and acculturation services, we walk alongside individuals and families as they build safer, more independent futures.

Years later,our mission continues and we cannot do it alone.

Your support helps create a community where survivors are heard, families can heal, and newcomers have the opportunity to thrive.

On October 17th License to Freedom is hosting an art installation alongside bazaar featuring our entrepreneurs. The art installation event is a community celebration centered around families, culture, identity, and connection. It highlights the experiences and creativity of our Girls Youth Group through an art installation reflecting their identity, culture, and lived experiences. The event will also feature live music, a fashion show, henna, food, an art and cultural corner, and goods from local women-owned businesses. While families and positive family relationships are at the heart of the event, it is designed to bring the broader community together as well, creating opportunities for youth, parents, caregivers, community members, and local businesses to connect, celebrate culture, and share positive experiences. Through art, cultural expression, and community engagement, the event promotes connection, belonging, and healthy relationships across generations.
