Portland Prairie 4-H Club Elects New Officers

Members of the Portland Prairie 4-H Club met on Sunday, October 12, at the Amundson Family Farm in rural Eitzen to hold their annual election of officers for the upcoming year. Families gathered to celebrate a year filled with learning, leadership, and community involvement.

The newly elected officers are as follows:

President: Tyler Hoscheit

Vice President: Ella Burrichter

Secretary: Peyton Hoscheit

Treasurer: Beth Myhre

Reporter/Historian: Jurnee Adamson and Madelyn Amundson

Outgoing officers were recognized for their dedication and hard work throughout the past year. Members reflected on club highlights, including participation at the Houston County Fair, community service projects, and special events hosted throughout the year.

“Our 4-H members continue to show great leadership and teamwork,” said Club Leader Amy Adamson. “It’s inspiring to watch them take pride in their projects and serve their community.”

The Portland Prairie 4-H Club, the oldest 4-H club in Houston County, is part of the Houston County 4-H program and welcomes new members throughout the year.

An exciting month for Portland Prairie!
During the month of February, the Portland Prairie 4-H club members worked alongside members of the Eitzen Lions Club at their Annual Wild Game Feed.
The next day, they made Valentine’s for local senior citizens and some very special Valentine’s for members of our community who needed a little extra love this year.
Many members were able to find time to take a much-needed and well deserved trip to Whitetail Ridge Ski Resort for a fun day of Snow Tubing!
It was back to business on Tuesday, when club members gathered at the Wired Rooster to present a donation of food and $1,000 to the Houston County Food Shelf.
It is truly amazing to see our youth working hard and giving back to our community. Stay tuned for March!

We found toothbrushes, holiday ribbons, fence post and a windshield!

The 2023 Houston County Fair Queen is our very own Aften Myhre!

She is the incredibly talented and beautiful daughter of Dennis and Heidi Myhre.

She brings strong leadership to the youth in the club and is holds the position of the club Historian.
