We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving yesterday surrounded by people that you like.

This is a very late Rodeo update from earlier this month. It was a great rodeo with great turnout, despite being moved a month later than originally planned. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Pictures from the from the rodeo are still forthcoming. Thank you to everyone that donated to the western NC fundraiser at the rodeo. Between what folks donated and what we matched, we sent a donation of $1500 for Hurricane Helene relief and rebuilding.

The rodeo worked out so well, in fact, that we are looking to make this move permanent such that the rodeo will now be held on the first weekend in November rather than October. This does two things for us. First, it increases the quality and quantity of rodeo competitors since it is near the end of the season for folks completing for the championship. In fact, this was the first time we've had a full slate of bull riders in several years. Second, moving to November gets us out of the heart of hurricane season and will, hopefully, make our rodeo less likely to be affected by storms.

Go head and mark your calendar now for next year. The 2025 rodeo is scheduled for Friday, Oct 31, and Saturday, Nov 1. More details to come.

Night 2 of the rodeo tonight. The weather should be perfect so come on out.

One more night of The Efland Ruritan Club Pro Rodeo tonight Nov 2 Gates open at 5 pm the show at 7pm. Cowboy up and hope the see yall there.

RODEO ALERT: The recent rains before and from the recent hurricane have turned our fields into a swampy, muddy mess and we fear they will not dry before the end of this weekend. This leaves a risk of vehicles getting stuck and people slipping and/or falling in the mud. Because of these hazards, we have canceled the rodeo for this weekend and are rescheduling it for Nov 1 & 2. The ticket booth and gates will open at 5pm and the rodeo will start at 7pm both nights.

Unfortunately, due to the extreme weather and circumstances beyond our control the Efland Ruritan has rescheduled this years Rodeo for Nov 1 & 2, 2024. Gates open at 5pm show starts at 7pm. I am sorry for any inconvenience and hope to see you in November.

RODEO ALERT: Please see below. Rodeo for TONIGHT has been canceled due to uncertainties with storm conditions today into this afternoon. Saturday is staying as scheduled and we will hold an afternoon rodeo on Sunday. For tomorrow, the ticket booth and gates will open at 5:30 and the rodeo will start at 7:30. For Sunday, the ticket booth and gates will open at 1:30 and the rodeo will start at 3:00.

Due the Threat of potentially hazardous weather today and for the safety of everyone we have decide to cancel tonight's Rodeo. We will have the Rodeo tomorrow night Saturday gates will open at 5:30 show at 7. We will also have a Sunday afternoon Rodeo Gates will open at1:30 and the show starts at 3pm . Hope to see everyone there.

The rodeo is moving forward as scheduled this weekend. Hopefully, the storm keeps curving to the west and/or moves past us before rodeo time Friday. If we have to cancel Friday due to rain/storm conditions, we will have a show on Sunday afternoon (9/29) at 3:00. The gates for that will open at 1:30pm.

A go/no go decision for Friday will be made by 2pm on Friday and posted on here and our website (https://eflandruritanclub.com/rodeo).

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the need to keep walkways clear, we cannot allow folding chairs inside the gate during the rodeo.

In addition, smoking (including e-cigarettes and va**ng), coolers, and pets are not allowed inside the gate. Please leave your emotional support emu at home.
