That’s a wrap on the high school football season 🏈 We had our awards banquet last night…

This year was about so much more than wins and losses. Watching these young men grow — as players, teammates, and men — has been something to be incredibly proud of.

We are so thankful for the coaches, parents, sponsors, and community members who showed up week after week to support this program. Your time, effort, and encouragement mean more than you know.

A big shoutout to Lickin' My Chicken bbq for donating the pulled pork for our awards banquet — the food was outstanding, as always!

We’re also grateful to Riviera Records for consistently supporting our team and capturing incredible action shots season after season.

And thank you to J’s Lil Bakes for the adorable (and delicious!) cookies — such a fun touch! 🍪

And EZ Laser Designs for our gift to Coach Hef from the seniors. It was perfect!

Tanille Yow custom designed some footballs for the seniors, as well! They were so neat!

With multiple award winners and a great banquet to close things out, it was the perfect ending to a memorable season.

To our seniors — you will incredibly missed. We wish you all the best as you take the next steps toward your future. ❤️🖤

EHS Soccer Keeps. Making. History! 🔥🔥🔥

The Hearts defeated Carlinville 4-nil in the first Sectional game in program history! As always, it was a complete team performance from a group of athletes that have formed a Brotherhood.

M. Sefton scored 2 goals. C. DeLong added 1 goal and 1 assist. A. Wagoner put away a goal of his own. G. Kinder and L. Gonzalez each tallied an assist. The defense stood tall and kept a clean sheet. B. Wilson did not have to record a save, yet he led with strong communication that kept the back line locked in all night.

Despite the rainy conditions, the support in the stands was incredible! It looked like the biggest home soccer crowd this program has ever seen. The energy from "the 12th man" helped push the team forward.

EHS advances to the Sectional Championship this Friday at 5:00 vs. Rochester on our home turf. Our fans are a big part of this run!

Not quite ready to make an end of season football post just yet, but I do want to share this!!

Every single Hearts sports fan should be in those stands tomorrow!!

These kids and coaches have worked SO hard to get this far and proud is an understatement!

History. Made. Again.

EHS Soccer just claimed the first Regional Championship in program history with a dominant 4-0 victory over Staunton! This year has already been one for the record books:

• Most wins in a season
• First ever Apollo Conference title
• New team record for goals scored in a season
• M. Sefton breaking his own single-season goals record

Our players set two goals before the season even started: Win the Apollo and Win Regionals. Achievements unlocked! 🌟

The Regional Final was a battle, but the Hearts finished strong with a clean sheet and plenty of firepower:
• M. Sefton: 2 goals
• R. Kinney: 1 goal, 1 assist
• G. Kinder: clutch opening goal
• L. Gonzalez: big minutes and 1 assist
• B. Wilson: elite communication and 2-save shutout

This team has more history to write!

The Hearts turn to Sectionals at HOME starting Tuesday, October 28 at 5:00pm. They have only dropped one home game in the last two seasons.

The support of our fans and community fuels this team every step of the way. You can be a big part of this team's success!

What. A. Night!! 🔥🙌

Huge thanks to Joe's Pizza of Effingham for sponsoring our team meal tonight, to New Hope Church for letting us crash Oneighty, and to Kyle from Greater Effingham Area FCA for delivering an incredible message that hit home for everyone. 💪

Our senior parents joined us for the final regular season meal — one of our favorite traditions — and Gary was there to capture all the memories. ❤️ Nights like this remind us what makes this team so special.

Tomorrow, it’s another David vs. Goliath matchup… but as Kyle said, these boys have been preparing for this moment all season. Now it’s time to play free, play fearless, and leave it all on the field!!!

It’s win or go home against Centralia — and I think we can all agree, none of us are ready for this ride to end.

Let’s show up, get loud, and cheer these boys on like never before!

Not only is he breaking records for our football team, he’s also pretty heavy into helping the soccer team break records!!

They play Wed in Staunton and we head to Centralia Friday!!

The boys pulled off a big one in Mattoon last night, and our fans and cheerleaders showed up loud and proud — way to bring the hype!! 🙌🏽

Huge thanks to Angie's Accounting for dinner Thursday AND the film-day donuts today! Nothing like celebrating a hard-fought W with donuts and chocolate milk! 😋

Next up: Road trip to face a tough Centralia squad in a true “must-win” Friday Night Lights match up!

Tomorrow is our last game on our home field, and we’re ready for a true David vs. Goliath battle. One thing’s for sure — these boys have never been ones to shy away from a fight. They’ve poured their hearts into every practice, every game, every play. ❤️❤️

Our momma hearts aren’t ready to see them under those home lights for the final time, but we couldn’t be prouder of how far they’ve come — as teammates, as competitors, and as young men. 🥹
