Okay, this sounds like a pretty good way to spend an October evening.

Kirby Foods is hosting a Boar’s Head Charcuterie Board Class on Thursday, Oct. 29, where you’ll learn how to build and arrange your own board with plenty of tips along the way.

And you don’t just learn how to make one. You’ll leave with a fully stocked charcuterie board of your own!

Effingham native Brandon Willis has joined Rich and Austin Hartke’s office at Prudential Wealth Advisors as a financial advisor.

Brandon brings experience in financial analysis, auditing and small business ownership to his new role, where he’ll work with individuals, families and business owners on retirement planning, investments, cash flow, asset protection and more.

And for Brandon, getting to build his career in the community where he grew up makes this next step even more meaningful.

Effingham County Emergency Management Agency - IL and the US National Weather Service Central Illinois in Lincoln are offering a FREE Storm Spotter Training Class on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Learn what storm spotters look for, how to identify severe weather and cloud formations, and how you can report severe weather directly to the National Weather Service as a SKYWARN volunteer.

The class will also include a winter storm outlook as we head toward colder weather.

Free and open to the public. No pre-registration required.
