🗑️ It's time for another A Day In Your Shoes!

This week, I spent the day with Rumpke Waste & Recycling, getting a behind-the-scenes look at everything that happens after we roll our trash cans to the curb.

From hopping on a route and helping pick up trash to visiting the landfill and seeing where it all goes, I quickly realized there's a lot more to waste and recycling than meets the eye. There is so much science, technology, equipment, and planning involved in keeping our communities clean and managing the waste we produce.

A huge thank you to the entire Rumpke team for putting me to work, answering my MANY questions, and letting me spend the day in your shoes!

This has been such a fun series, and I’m so grateful to every business that has welcomed me in. I’m taking a little break for now, but don’t worry—I’ll be back before you can say “pickup day.” They will return! Thanks for following along!

Community Support Systems has a newly renovated space to show you!

Stop by Tuesday, September 15 for a ribbon cutting and open house at their Harvester Street location. The renovation brings several CSS programs and administrative services together under one roof.

Ribbon Cutting | 4 p.m.
Open House | until 7 p.m.

Take a look around, meet the CSS team and learn more about the programs and services happening inside the newly renovated space. Building tours and refreshments will be available throughout the open house.

The event is free and open to the community.
