The holiday season is quickly approaching and nursing home residents will soon be welcoming an increased number of loved ones visiting their facilities. With a little planning and preparation, residents can visit with their loved ones and stay safe during their holiday visits!

Remember: Residents have the right to see visitors of their choosing when they choose, and residents can leave their facilities to visit with family, participate in community activities, or for any other reason.

Make sure to vote! Here are the rights of Long-Term Care residents, regarding voting.

Individuals receiving long-term services and supports retain their voting rights, no matter where they live or what type of care they receive.

This is GREAT information. It refers to psych meds in long term care, but it also has resident rights if facility is attempting to discharge for "behavior issues"

Nursing Home residents CAN HAVE STREAMING VIDEO CAMERAS in their room??? It is THE LAW. Nursing homes cannot prohibit cameras in resident rooms. There are some details to consider. Please see the brochure linked in the comments.
