Fighting childhood hunger by preparing and distributing healthy meals to local children. Founded by David Tevet, Owner, Ollies Restaurant.

More then 1 in 4 children in the United States do not receive nutritious food on a consistent basis. In Luzerne County, more then 10,500 children are food insecure. Children who lack a nutritionally balanced diet are more likely to exhibit behavior problems, poor school performance, and impaired cognitive development.

Our 2026 Annual Dinner: 15th Anniversary: A Crystal Harvest, is shaping up to be a very special evening honoring the people who have helped make this mission possible.

We’re excited to welcome Zubeen Saeed, Founder and COO of Building Blocks Learning Center, as our guest speaker, with Mike Duffy, on-air personality at 979X, serving as our emcee! 🎤

This year’s Jim Haggerty Service Award will be presented to our founding volunteers in recognition of their incredible 15 years of continued service to Dinners for Kids. After all this time, they are still giving back by delivering and packing meals! 🍎🚗

Join us Wednesday, November 18 at 5:30 PM at the Friedman JCC / JCA of Northeastern PA in Kingston for cocktail hour, dinner, live music, and more as we celebrate 15 years of fighting childhood hunger together.

Help us deliver meals to children across NEPA! 💛 Dinners for Kids is looking for volunteer delivery drivers to help ensure children across NEPA receive the meals they are counting on. Drivers pick up meals from Ollie's American Restaurant after 2:30 PM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and deliver directly to children’s homes.

Whether you can help once a month or more regularly, every route covered makes a difference for a child in our community. Interested in volunteering? Email [email protected] to get started!

A meal can’t reach a child’s doorstep without someone willing to make the drive. 🚗

Dinners for Kids is looking for volunteer drivers to help deliver meals to children throughout NEPA. Each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, drivers pick up prepared meals from Ollie's American Restaurant after 2:30 PM and bring them directly to the homes of children in our program.

You don’t have to commit every week to make a difference. Whether you can take a route once a month or volunteer more often, your time helps make sure a child receives the dinner they are counting on. For 15 years, volunteers, donors, community partners, and supporters have come together to help make sure children in NEPA have access to nutritious meals.

What started 15 years ago has grown into a community-wide effort powered by people who believe that no child should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. From the first meals packed to the thousands served since, we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together. And we’re even more excited about what’s ahead. Every meal starts with a team of dedicated volunteers, generous supporters, and a whole lot of packing! From preparing bags to organizing meals, there’s plenty that goes on behind the scenes to make sure nutritious food reaches children in need throughout NEPA.

We’re so grateful for everyone who shows up, pitches in, packs a meal, delivers, makes a donation, or helps make it all happen. It truly takes a community to keep the meals coming! 🥪🍎

We are incredibly grateful to First Welsh Presbyterian Church in Edwardsville for their generous donation to Dinners for Kids through their One Great Hour of Sharing offering. 💙💚

The congregation wanted to support a local organization and a cause close to their hearts, helping address food insecurity right here in our community. We are honored they chose Dinners for Kids as part of their giving!

Thank you to the church members who helped make this gift possible, Linda, Ann, Amy, and Bill, and to our DFK Board Members, Bob, Gary, Thomas, and Shawna, for being part of this special presentation.

A special thank you to Bill, who gives back in another meaningful way as a DFK volunteer delivery driver. We are so grateful for the many ways our community continues to show up for children across NEPA.
