Friends of Bohm Woods Friends of Bohm Woods' mission is to protect Madison County's only old growth forest.

Bohm Woods State Nature Preserve includes the only old growth forest remaining in Madison County, Illinois. It is being threatened by a high-density student housing development that will be located in close proximity to the forest edge. Research shows that forest interior bird diversity declines near development. Bohm Woods is home to many plant and animal species that are not commonly found elsewhere. Help in the fight to protect this valuable resource for future generations!
