Our wildlife-friendly boundary fencing is complete! This cedar split-rail and smooth-wire fence between the EVLT Conservation Center and the Eagle River Preserve will allow easy passage for deer, elk, and other critters. And the brand-new gate will allow humans to access the eventual trail connection with the preserve!

Love living in the Eagle River Valley? Then please join us and “Live Like a Local” this summer and beyond!

With snowpack at historically low levels this past winter and Eagle County in exceptional drought, our rivers, streams, and reservoirs are under pressure. That’s why we are encouraging residents and property owners to shift away from water-intensive landscaping and toward practices that reflect the natural mountain environment.

"Living like a local means letting our mountain environment inspire what we plant on our properties," said Ryan Vlaar, Horticulture Specialist with Beyond Lawn. "The landscapes that thrive here are built around native and waterwise plants, smaller lawns, and irrigation sized for our climate and the water we share."

On Colorado Public Lands Day, this amazing crew gathered at Spud Cellar in Eagle to pull down hazardous barbed wire, perform social trail mitigation, and install informational signs that will help keep this property safe for our beloved local wildlife.

A big shout-out to Town of Eagle, CO for their partnership and the ongoing work they do to steward open spaces. Land protection is a community effort, and we're thankful to be part of this incredible community.
