Many thanks to our good neighbor who appears to be keeping the front of the cemetery mowed. Your kindness and generous charity is deeply appreciated. 🤩

One of our Frontier Red Hill family needs our prayers. Leta Lantrip, a Davidson descedant, is in a Tyler hospital, having had a stroke. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. And let's remember all of our extended family as we shelter, social distance, and take precautions during this unusual time. God Bless!

Dear Frontier Red Hill Family & Friends,

I hope this finds you all safe, well, and taking all recommended health precautions. As you might guess, the issue of our annual cemetery meeting has weighed heavily on our trustees, but we’ve come to the unanimous decision to cancel our annual meeting in the interest of the health and safety of us all. I know many of you, like myself, look forward to the meetings not just to address business, but also as a social event, something we are all lacking during these times. I urge us all to stay in touch with each other, until we can meet again in person.

I pray we all remain safe and healthy during this difficult time, and again, I encourage us to reach out to each other and keep in touch.

Blessings,
Karen

Our page has received a lot of views lately! I expect many of us are "sheltering in place" and it's a great time to research family history. I found this article from the Tyler Courier Times newspaper, dated 4/15/1956, as our cemetery commemorated it's 100th birthday. Rachel Morris, g-g-granddaughter of John Piles, tells the story of the cemetery, as told to her by her grandmother, Nancy Piles Bohannan. To preserve the text of the article, I've transcribed it as written, and you can see it at https://docs.google.com/document/d/11zZFxLteXEdaYGJztatQcXSPYuBuI5EKd1ED44WHtKM/edit?usp=sharing

I've had a breakthrough on the genealogy of John Piles, 1802-1857, who many of us descend from! I've uploaded it on Wikitree. Please contact me if you'd like more information!

Our annual meeting on Sunday was a great success! Some of our regular family couldn't attend, but we still had a good group. Lots of food, fellowship, and renewed interest in our heritage. Thanks to Terri Morris Rountree for the great pictures!

It's with deep sadness, and sympathies to the families, that I tell you of the loss of two of our Frontier Red Hill family. Lawrence Maynard joined our ancestors on March 1, and Gene Paul Morris on March 25. Our hearts go out to their families and loved ones.
