Several Jackson Co. VOAD board members attended the Hurricane Preparedness Conference at the Victoria Community Center this past Wednesday and Thursday. We gained valuable information to help us prepare for, to use during, and after a hurricane.

The Jackson County VOAD held its Annual Meeting this evening with approximately 30 people in attendance. Judge Jill Sklar, Sheriff Rick Boone and Lane Larson were the guest speakers and gave some great updates on the happenings with the County, Sheriff’s Office and Office of Emergency Management. The VOAD Board re-elected 3 existing board members, acted on the proposed bylaw changes and attendees received a recap of the VOAD Board’s accomplishments over the past year. The date for next year’s Annual Meeting was set for January 14, 2027. A big thank you to all who attended!
