OMF Cares - Why We Care
The year was 1986 and I, like many other teenage boys, sat in a packed theater knowing I was going to be Tom Cruise, dating Kelly McGillis, and flying cool jets. That next year I joined the world’s greatest Navy...and in 1988 found myself not flying cools jets but chipping paint.
I was quick to change that and landed as a Personnelman assigned to a cool team on the USS Mauna Kea.
After my active duty time, I did in fact find my “Kelly McGillis” in college and we’ve successfully navigated more than 20 years of marriage and have two beautiful daughters.
After years of corporate and tech-start-ups, chasing money and still being miserable, I found my Purpose: to add value to people’s lives. In 2007 my first book, Operation Military Family: How Military Couples are Fighting to Preserve their Marriages, hit the shelves and catapulted me to stages and bases across the country. Most likely due to the endorsements of GEN. Tommy Franks and GEN. Peter Chiarelli.
