This year it is also a BBQ World Cup Qualifier with 2 spots (GC and RGC) up for grabs in addition to $7000 in cash prize pool paying down to 10th place.

Sign up for a great longstanding BBQ event in the PNW end of September. This event is one or two qualifiers for the inagural $1 Million Dollar BBQ World Cup event in 2027 at Las Vegas. The Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association (PNWBA) is a nonprofit group run by volunteers who love barbecue. We work to celebrate and promote the art of barbecue throughout the Northwest.

Unfortunately this is not the kind of smoke you want on your bbq! This event has been postponed due to heavy smoke from wildfires in the area. A new date will potentially be coming out soon. Watch our socials and the web page for more info. Refunds will be sent to those teams that have signed up. Stay safe out there!

Dear PNWBA Membership and Active PNW Teams,

During the past few weeks, the weather has been getting drier and warmer, which we all come to know in the PNW means wildfire season is among us. Right now, there are several fires in the Spokane and Lake Chelan areas that are burning at large rates.

As we all want to enjoy the outdoors, especially our BBQ events across the region, we also need to be aware of these factors and how they will directly impact the events but more importantly, the safety of our members, volunteers, cooks, judges and attendees. As of today, August 3rd, 2026, here is where we stand on the upcoming PNWBA events:

1. Fairchild Air Force Base Feed the Troops August 8th: Our PNWBA reps have been working with the base organizers in conjunction with the surrounding areas and weather services. As of now, this event is still in motion to go on as planned.

2.12 Tribes Casino in Lake Chelan August 15th and 16th: Our PNWBA reps are working with the event organizers in conjunction with the surrounding areas and local officials. As of now, this event is still scheduled as planned.

We all know these types of weather events can change by the hour, please take it upon yourself to verify conditions and status before heading out. Our primary goal is always the safety of our members and volunteers first. Please follow our major news and weather sources and make the best judgment for attendance on your own behalf for you, your family and friends safety regarding conditions.
