Volunteers needed to carry banners:

11/8/2025 Auburn Veterans Day Parade

We will be meeting in the parking lot of L Street and Main Street....businesses nearby 5 Star Laundry and the Auburn Valley Humane Society Thrift Store.

Volunteers needed - Adults or 17+ plus only, no pets allowed/strollers,etc........

Volunteers wear red/white/blue/patriotic attire....it might be warm it might be raining.

It is a flat walk, one way parade

10 AM - You will need to be in our starting line up location (L Street and Main Street)

***Roads close early, so be prepared to walk**** If you part near where we start, you will need to walk back to your car. The parade is a one-way route.

Recommended parking is the Transit Center....you then will walk to L Street and Main Street where we will hand out the banners. After the parade, you will be near your car. You can find a place to park near L Street and Main Street and after the parade you will walk back to your car.

11 AM Parade Starts - we typically are in the front, but I don't know until we pick up our information that morning.

It is a great experience.

Changes to Washington state Disabled Veteran Parking Rules Effective as of Oct. 1, 2025

Washington - Veterans with a qualifying discharge, a 70% or higher disability rating, and a federally defined service animal are now eligible for special disabled veteran parking benefits — valid for five years. Apply to receive blue placards, veteran parking plates, or a disabled veteran tab and always keep your veteran with disabilities parking privilege ID with you. This is a meaningful step toward honoring service and ensuring accessibility.

How to apply:

Complete the Disabled Parking Application for Veterans.
Include a letter from the U.S. Armed Forces or the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs showing a 70% or higher disability rating.
Bring documents and fees to a vehicle licensing office or mail them to Department of Licensing, PO Box 9043, Olympia, WA 98507.
Expect placards, plates, or tabs in about seven to 10 days and the ID card in two to three weeks.
Parking privileges must be renewed every five years. Plates and tabs renew annually.
