We invite you to enjoy the park, and help us care for it whenever you can.

Hi all! Welcome to the longest day of the year. Mike and I spent a few hours at the park today cutting blackberries and rented a tough brush mower to carve a path into the meadow. PLEASE visit the park and enjoy the bugs, nature, the beautiful teenager trees and the green space! I know there is a lot there that could be done but we are at the low end of the totem pole for the Parks to address and there are only a few of us volunteers. Despite this, we feel we are just adding to the surrounding community by having a passive place for animals such as bunnies, birds, coyotes and deer to visit, have watched the bee population in this immediate area increase and have seen the new trees growing well into their spaces. Thank you for enjoying it! :)

Hi all! Snohomish Parks has come through with another round of major assistance through blackberry beat back. They also uncovered the fence on the east side of the meadow area. I can't believe how much better it looks and am THANKFUL for their assistance!

***If anyone wants to work off some turkey dinner, I visited the south portion of the park yesterday along the pathway that leads from 52nd along the school going east/west - oh boy, someone has been drinking there forever. There were too many cans for me to pickup. If anyone has an extra bag, gloves and is willing to pickup a bag or so of cans for recycling/trash that would be amazing.

Not into trash pickup? Go check out the not so baby trees! WOW, they are sooo great! Thankful for you all!

Exciting news, Snohomish Parks has the resources to help us at the park finally! YAYY! There will be 2 workers there tomorrow (Saturday) between 10am and 3pm. If you happen to go by the park PLEASE thank them and say hi. They will be trying to tackle the blackberry on the fence etc. Thank you all! Katy

Hi all! Get ready for Earth Day! We will be at the park Sunday the 14th 1-3 doing various easy tasks that will help you learn about the park and be able to more in depth enjoy your future visits there. The Beverly Elementary PTA will also be there adding to the Beverly Rocks rock garden - bring your painting skills and an extra rock if you have one handy ... even though every day is Earth Day, we invite you to celebrate this one with us!

Looks like the trend here has been to post once a year :) If you compare the photos in the last post with what's going on in real life at the Park, you'll see that the trees have grown SO MUCH! Our tree parent hearts are so proud!

Many have asked how to support this green open space - while there are not a lot of kid friendly tasks, there are a lot of ongoing things that Michael and I take care of when we are free: cutting blackberries down, pushing out piles of mulch, picking up trash (did you know last year I took home 40 bags over one year, just from roadside and park pickup?) and sign cleaning.

YOU can help with any of these too! Just bring your clippers and cut at any blackberry you see. Or, bring a rake and pull back some mulch piles. Pick up a small bag of trash.

WE APPRECIATE YOU VOLUNTEERS!

Hi all, it's been a VERY long time since writing about the Park. Both Michael and I had a long last year and went on our own doing some small tasks here and there but we are back now to ask for your help!

In the past we have found it hard to schedule a time for a traditional work party so we are now just going to list some tasks that you can easily go do on your own on your own time and can report back. We do not have help from the Parks unless we really need something urgent so rely on even a few mins of volunteer time to keep this place going! So, here are our asks, and see the photos below for areas and descriptions. Please report back if you visit and do a little work!

1. By the BevParkRocks area: we need the blackberry cut off the fence.
2. If you know what scotch broom is and feel comfortable working on the slope you can use loppers to cut it down. It can be piled on the opposite side of the fence as the BevParkRocks area.
3. Pushing out mulch piles - in particular, those on the north edge need to be pushed out and raked. You can keep it thick in all areas except around tree trunks.
4. Cutting blackberry - again, the north and west edges of the mulched areas will get totally covered this summer if we don't start now. Mike and I visited yesterday and did some work on the north end but WHEREEVER you see it, clip it to the ground, use a hard rake to rake it back ... any damage you can do to it is appreciated! We do not need to pick this up or pile it up.

Please let me know if you have questions, want to be removed from this list or want to include others/send this list along - we can get a lot done with many hands and a few mins here and there.
Thank you all for your interest in this park!

Hi all! I hope you have been enjoying the park even during this damp spring. Due to everyone's diligence last summer during the water bottle challenge we are so happy to say that all the baby trees we planted three years ago are now happy and established! We even added more from my back yard and a neighbor and those too are taking off. THANK YOU! Enjoy Junuary!

Hello! Can anyone assist the water bottle challenge?? This means taking 2 water bottles to the park: one for you to drink and one to water a new tree :) Each tree that needs water is marked with yellow flagging. With weather like this, go as many times as you like. Feel free to send a pic of a tree being watered. Thank you all!

Who likes geocaching!? We’re told someone made one in the park. Open up the geocache app and look at the area. A rock garden and a geocache!? How exciting!!

Many thanks to the Beverly elementary PTA for their involvement in this park! Come check out the rock garden and join in with your own inspired painted rocks! Not only did they paint and contribute this rock garden they also contributed work hours by helping remove blackberries, spreading mulch and planting new trees!
