The majority of students in the Edmonds School District are students of color – 55%. They are taught by predominantly white teachers – 89%.  That's according to the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. The Edmonds School District is aware of the numbers. So there was

We are so humbled to announce that Teachers of Color Foundation has been selected 2021 Peoples Bank Impact Grant Winner for a very generous $25,000 grant!! This grant will enable us to add more diversity to our classroom teachers in the Edmonds School District.

Peoples Bank announced that it awarded the Teachers of Color (TOC) Foundation a $25,000 Peoples Bank Impact Grant to support its goal of increasing teacher diversity in the Edmonds School District.
