We were proud to host our accreditation team from Clubhouse international last week. Andrew from Cora Dale House in Indiana and Laura Clarke of Pathways in Canada, made up our accreditation visit team.

Laura and Andrew got right to it. They sat in on unit meetings and even joined in on our morning stretches. They couldn’t have been kinder or more willing to be helpful. We have learned from them already.

They compiled our preliminary report and presented it to Oasis. The preliminary report was very well received by members and staff. That report is the start of our final accreditation process. So it should be finalized by Thanksgiving. (Positive vibes and fingers crossed.) All our colleagues feel very proud of what we have accomplished and how we showed it off to Laura and Andrew. Time will tell.

Arcadia Lake Day! It took two tries, but it worked out fine. The weather was clear and not deadly hot. Most folks enjoyed the water of the lake. Some stayed up at the shelter and played a marathon game of farkle. We grilled some hotdog, roasted marshmallows and made s’mores. We had a lot of fun and it was definitely worth the wait. .

Happy Independence Day! 250 years! Oasis Clubhouse proudly participated in the Liberty Fest Parade under clear, hot, yet pleasantly dry skies. The atmosphere was filled with fun and excitement as decorations were prepared, and the walk was made more enjoyable by the cheers of enthusiastic crowds who had camped out since the night before.

Leading the parade were Josh, Trevor, Sam, and Bill. Bill waved the flag proudly while shouting, "Independence Day!" Meanwhile, Sam encouraged the crowd to join in wishing Bill a happy 65th birthday. Inside the bus, Linda kept spirits high, leading cheers and energizing everyone throughout the route.

It was a wonderful time for our second year in the parade!!
