Today, we pause to honor the extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of those who have been awarded our nation’s highest military honor—the Medal of Honor.

These heroes represent the very best of our country. Their actions go above and beyond the call of duty, often at great personal cost, to protect others and defend the freedoms we hold dear.

At Blue Star Mothers of America, we not only honor these brave individuals, but we also recognize the families who stand beside them—the ones who share in the sacrifices, the pride, and the legacy of service.

May we never forget the courage it takes to serve, and the strength it takes to support those who do.

Four Chaplains Day 💙🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember and honor the extraordinary courage and selfless sacrifice of the Four Chaplains — Lt. George L. Fox, Lt. Alexander D. Goode, Lt. John P. Washington, and Lt. Clark V. Poling.

On February 3, 1943, as the USAT *Dorchester* sank in the icy waters of the North Atlantic, these four chaplains put others before themselves. They gave up their life jackets, offered prayers and comfort, and stood together in faith and unity — showing the world what true service, compassion, and sacrifice look like.

At Blue Star Mothers of America, we honor their legacy as a powerful reminder that service is rooted not only in duty, but in love for others. Their actions continue to inspire us to serve with humility, courage, and unwavering care for our military and veteran families.

May we always remember their example and carry their spirit forward.

Soldiers Day Out was once again a wonderful day and a huge success. As military moms we've missed more holidays with our children than we can count. We've had our children "adopted" for holidays and we are grateful for those families. That's why we love "adopting" Fort Sill soldiers every year for a day of great food, fun and lasting memories.
