The next Edmond City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 12. Two noteworthy agenda items include:

10.B. A presentation on the city's new Development Tracker Map, a new online GIS tool that makes information about development activity in Edmond more accessible.

10.C. A presentation and discussion of a proposed scope of work for a new Downtown Master Plan aimed at establishing a shared vision for the future of Downtown Edmond.

TRAFFIC ALERT: The Cycle 66 event in Downtown Edmond will result in several road closures from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 4.

The Crit race route will require street and lane closures on Broadway from 2nd to Edwards. The southbound lanes of Boulevard will be closed to all traffic from Campbell to First. To maintain traffic flow, the northbound lanes of Boulevard will be temporarily reconfigured to accommodate one lane of traffic in each direction. There will also be closures between Broadway and Boulevard at Campbell, Hurd, Main, and First. Littler will be closed from Campbell to First. Motorists are advised to follow posted signage and drive with caution through the reconfigured area.

No street parking will be permitted along the route during the event, and any cars on the route will be subject to towing after 4 a.m. Sunday. Downtown parking lots will be open, but access will be limited and controlled by the racecourse marshals.

We love The Pumpkin & Christmas Tree Stand at 15th and Broadway because pumpkins and gourds are awesome and it's a great example of a productive use for our many overbuilt and mostly empty parking lots!

This is an important quote!

Gentrification is a real thing, but not all new development is gentrification. We can (and SHOULD) have older and more affordable housing next to newer housing - all in the same neighborhood. The beauty of urbanism is that it doesn't all look the same and that there's a place for everyone who wants to be here.

One realty project is in downtown Edmond at 19 N Broadway and one is close to downtown, on West Hurd Street. But downtown Edmond continues to expand.
