Jean-Ciar Anton Pierce was shot to death in Spencer, Oklahoma on August 25, 2012. He was twenty-three years old.

The night that Jean-Ciar was killed he had been at the now defunct Shaker’s Sports Bar when a gunfight broke out in the parking lot. In order to get away from the violent chaos, Jean-Ciar had gotten into his vehicle to leave, but was caught by gunfire. He had been struck in the neck.

The fight at the club broke out when an unidentified male entered the club in the early morning hours and began firing his weapon. Eventually the fray spilled out into the parking lot, with more than 200 witnesses to the fight, and several shooters. However, even though there is video of some of the incident, law enforcement have had a difficult time finding witnesses that are willing to talk.

In 2013 a suspect was arrested for the murder, however he was later released without being charged. He has continued to maintain his innocence in the murder of Jean-Ciar. As of August of 2025 the case is still open and unsolved, with law enforcement issuing a plea in news media for someone to come forward.

Jean-Ciar’s mother has worked tirelessly to keep her son’s name in the media, and for the crime of his murder to be solved. He left behind a grief stricken family who continues to advocate for him and grieve for him.

Jean-Ciar Anton Pierce was born October 10th, 1988 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Darryl Pierce and Sarah and James Burdine. He leaves behind three siblings, and his beloved daughter who was born 4 months after his murder.Jean-Ciar attended Classen SAS and graduated in 2007. He went on to attend the University of St. Mary. Jean-Ciar worked at the Ralph Ellison Library at the time.

If you have any information, no matter how small, regarding the murder of Jean-Ciar Pierce, please contact the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department at 405-713-1017.

This week, during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, we honor victims, survivors, and families by continuing to do what this work demands: listen, act, and advocate.

Advocacy means refusing to let victims be reduced to statistics.
It means recognizing the lifelong impact homicide has on surviving loved ones.
It means speaking up for those navigating grief, trauma, injustice, and silence.
And it means continuing to push for awareness, dignity, and support for families whose cases remain unsolved.

At Project: Cold Case, advocacy is at the heart of what we do. We work to keep cases visible, humanize victims through their stories, and stand beside families as they seek answers and justice. While we do not investigate, we believe that remembrance, visibility, and public awareness are meaningful forms of advocacy.

This week, and every week, we remember that victims’ rights matter. Families matter. Their voices matter.

We will continue to listen.
We will continue to act.
We will continue to advocate.

This March 3rd marks 10 years since Billy “Wild Bill” Lange vanished Binger, Oklahoma. His family still searches for answers all these years later.

60-year-old Billy “Wild Bill” Lange was last seen on March 3, 2016, at his job site along I40 and the Canadian River near the Canadian/Caddo County line. He lived in Binger, Oklahoma and worked as a ranch hand in Hinton, keeping a steady routine that rarely changed. Each morning, he stopped at the same convenience store for coffee before heading to work. That day was no different. He also placed an order for tires at a local shop in Hinton.

By all accounts, it was an ordinary day. But Billy never returned home.

The following day, March 4, his tan Chevy Blazer was discovered abandoned along eastbound Interstate 40, west of the Calumet exit near mile marker 115. Inside were the personal items he carried daily — his keys, eyeglasses and ci******es — left behind as if he intended to return.

Family members say the circumstances make little sense. Billy was a creature of habit who did not deviate from his schedule. He disliked driving at night and had no known reason to be traveling along I-40 after dark. He had told loved ones he planned to be home that evening.

Investigators have considered multiple scenarios as to what might have happened to Billy. Still, questions linger. Those close to him say he often carried large amounts of cash and used a prepaid flip phone, leaving little digital trail for investigators to follow.

His daughter believes his disappearance was not random. She says he was dependable, hardworking and deeply devoted to his family. He loved farming, riding his Harley, and spending time with his children and grandson. He rarely missed work and followed the same routine day after day.

Billy’s case is classified as missing under suspicious circumstances. No arrests have been made. No definitive answers have surfaced.

As the years pass, his family continues to push for the truth. They believe someone knows what happened on that stretch of highway in March 2016.

If you have any information about the disappearance of Billy “Wild Bill” Lange, please contact the OSBI at 580-248-4050; reference case #2016-1158.
