Community Cat Coalition of Edmond

Community Cat Coalition of Edmond We are a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, all volunteer group operating in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Our mission is to effect change in the way community cats are viewed and treated in the City of Edmond. Our primary focus is to humanely and non-lethally reduce the numbers of free-roaming community cats in the City of Edmond by implementing a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program along with community outreach and education that addresses the value of community cats and the importance of spay/neuter.

Great advice! You need to have a plan for the cats BEFORE you trap!

🚨 Please, don't trap without a plan. 🚨

We often receive requests for help with trapped ferals/strays, only to find the cats in distress in exposed traps with no plan for what to do next. It's heartbreaking to see them panicking, with no trap cover, food, or water, and just a can of tuna inside.

Even reputable TNR organizations ensure the cat is comfortable during the process, covering the trap and staying on-site to reduce stress. Without a plan, trapping causes unnecessary trauma.

BERORE YOU TRAP, make sure you HAVE A PLAN—whether it's taking the cat to a vet, a rescue, or a safe space to decompress.

Please educate yourself and ensure you have a clear plan. Let's help these cats in the best way possible.

In addition to curbing unwanted litters, fixing pets at a young age can also lead to numerous health benefits for the animals themselves. Spaying and neutering can help prevent certain cancers and reduce the risk of behavioral issues, making pets more well-adjusted companions. Furthermore, early sterilization contributes to a more responsible pet ownership culture, where individuals recognize the importance of controlling the pet population and the commitment that comes with bringing an animal into their home.

As part of the OK Humane “Neuter Your Ex” campaign, we will be offering discounted pricing for feral cat spay and neuter surgeries from now until Valentine’s Day! Pricing will be $35 per cat. Each cat must receive an ear tip to qualify. We have a limited amount of walk-in spots per day, with a limit of 3 cats per vehicle. If you have more than 3 cats and you would like to get them spayed or neutered, please email [email protected] and we can look at reserving a set number of spots for you on a certain day separate from our walk-in appointments. Additional information about drop off/pick up times and walk in appointments available at the Trap Neuter Release link bit.ly/4jMyL94 !

Trap Neuter Release or TNR programs help manage free-roaming cat populations without harming the cats and can eventually lead to a humane end to a cat overpopulation situation in local neighborhoods.
