The Battle Is for Your Heart

We live in a beautiful world, but we also live in a world at war.

And the battle is for your heart.

Wounds accumulate throughout our lives, including wounds we may not even recognize yet. But Jesus wants access to those places too.

A simple prayer can begin the process:

"Jesus, would You come into the places that we don't even know need You?"

You Can Look Healthy and Still Have Bad Soil

A beautiful house can be built on ground that was never properly prepared.

Everything looks right from the outside. The house is finished. The driveway is poured. The sod is laid.

Then nothing grows.

Our spiritual lives can look the same. We can build something impressive on the surface while ignoring what's underneath.

Sustainable growth requires preparing the soil.

Basecamp is getting close.

September 17–20, we are heading back to Camp WOW for four days away from the pace and pressure of everyday life.

You do not need to have everything figured out before you come. Just be willing to show up.

Get away. Find some space. Spend time with God. Build real brotherhood. See what happens when you give God a few uninterrupted days.

Good Soil Requires Excavation

We want growth without digging.

But if there are rocks buried beneath the surface, good soil requires excavation.

The same can be true of our hearts. Becoming more like Jesus sometimes means allowing Him to uncover the things buried deep inside us that are preventing healthy growth.

Don't be afraid of the digging. God is preparing the soil.

How Many Boulders Are You Dragging?

Imagine walking through the wilderness with dozens of boulders tethered behind you.

That's what unresolved wounds can feel like.

Jesus doesn't stand at the finish line demanding that you move faster. He walks beside you, inviting you to stop, address one tether at a time, cut it loose, and hand the weight to Him.

Healing takes time, but you don't have to keep carrying everything forever.

What If Your Anger Is an Invitation?

Sometimes a reaction surfaces that doesn't look anything like the man you know God created you to be.

Anger. Bitterness. Fear. A response you immediately regret.

Instead of hiding it, what if you brought it directly to Jesus?

"Jesus, I don't like this part of me. Would You help me here?"

Those moments can become invitations into deeper healing.

The Wound Doesn't Have to Disqualify You

Peter denied Jesus and believed he had disqualified himself.

Jesus didn't abandon him.

He went directly into that wounded place, asking Peter three times, "Do you love me?" Then Peter became foundational to the early church.

The places where you've experienced failure, hurt, or shame don't have to define the rest of your story.

Jesus restores.

Physical Healing Isn't the End of the Story

Even the people Jesus physically healed eventually died.

Lazarus was raised from the dead, but his physical life still eventually came to an end.

That reminds us that Jesus is interested in something even deeper than temporary physical restoration. He wants the restoration of our hearts.

You Can Learn to Hear God's Voice

A conversational relationship with God isn't reserved for a select few.

Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me."

If hearing God feels unfamiliar, you're not behind. Consider this an invitation to begin pursuing a deeper life with Him.

You Don't Have to Have All the Answers

When someone you love is hurting, your job isn't always to fix them.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is show up, listen, stay curious, and follow Jesus into their story.

You don't know every piece of what they've experienced. Jesus does.

Be brave enough to enter the conversation without needing to be the one with the answer.
