A word from Dr. Christy today. Join us in encouraging and uplifting Dr. Christy during this difficult time. We love you and our thoughts and prayers are with you ππ»
Dear Breast Cancer Survivors of Oklahoma family,
I never imagined I would be writing these words.
After fighting and surviving Stage 3 breast cancer, I recently learned that I am facing cancer once again. This time, it is not metastatic breast cancer. Instead, it is a completely new and unrelated diagnosis: lung cancer.
To say I was shocked would be an understatement. Like many of you, I know the fear, uncertainty, and endless questions that come with hearing the words, βYou have cancer.β I thought I had already traveled this road, but life has placed me on a new path that I never expected.
At the same time, I know something now that I didnβt know when I was first diagnosed years ago: I am not alone. This group has shown me what strength, resilience, hope, and community look like. I have watched so many of you face impossible challenges with courage and grace, and your examples have helped prepare me for this next fight.
I wonβt pretend Iβm not scared. Some days will be harder than others. But I am determined to face this diagnosis the same way I faced breast cancerβone day, one appointment, one treatment, and one victory at a time.
I would appreciate your prayers, positive thoughts, and encouragement as I begin this journey. And if my experience can help someone else facing a second cancer diagnosis, I promise to share both the struggles and the successes along the way.
Thank you for being my community, my support system, and a reminder that survivors are stronger than we sometimes realize.
With love and gratitude,
Christy
