As Distracted Driving Awareness Month comes to a close, it’s a powerful reminder that safety on the road must remain a priority all year long.

For businesses with employees behind the wheel, even a moment of distraction can have serious consequences. The good news? Technology is making it easier than ever to prevent risky behaviors. From telematics and AI-powered monitoring systems to mobile device-blocking apps and voice-activated tools, these solutions help keep drivers focused, accountable, and safe.

Let’s carry this awareness forward—protecting employees, reducing risk, and building a culture of safety every day.

This week is National Apprenticeship Week, and ACCNJ is proud to highlight outstanding apprentices from the union construction trades.

Meet Andrew Kalebota of Lebanon, NJ, a second-year tile apprentice with Local 7 Tile, Marble & Terrazzo Union of NY/NJ. Andrew is currently working with ACCNJ member Sesso Tile and Stone and stands out for his dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to improving his craft.

Coming from a family of union craftworkers, Andrew was drawn to construction because of the stability and benefits it can provide. He chose tile setting because it’s a skill that often goes unnoticed, yet requires real craftsmanship to make spaces look their best. For Andrew, the most rewarding part of his apprenticeship is the variety—each day brings a new challenge and the opportunity to think on his feet.

Join us in celebrating Andrew and the next generation of skilled trades professionals shaping our industry’s future.
