We are dedicated to alleviating food insecurity among students and vulnerable communities across the United States. Providing Fresh, Cooked Meals to Fight Food Insecurity. World Food Movement (WFM) is a U.S.-based nonprofit driven by the vision of ending food insecurity by serving freshly cooked, nutritious meals to those in greatest need. Inspired by the proven legacy of The Akshaya Patra Foundat
ion—the world’s largest school lunch program, serving over 2.25 million meals daily in India—WFM brings this operational excellence to address America’s growing hunger crisis, focusing especially on college students and people experiencing homelessness. WFM’s mission is to empower communities and individuals by providing hot, wholesome vegetarian meals, promoting both physical and mental well-being. The organization’s ambitious goal is to serve 50,000 meals by the end of the current academic year and 1 million meals by 2030, reaching high-need urban centers like New York, New Jersey, Bay Area and Washington, D.C. Its model centers dignity and hope, helping remove the barriers hunger creates for education, stability, and progress. WFM partners with established organizations and is led by a Board with a proven track record in large-scale feeding initiatives. Operations prioritize trust, transparency, financial integrity, and robust governance. WFM’s work directly contributes to six key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—including Zero Hunger, No Poverty, and Quality Education—by serving vulnerable populations with direct, on-the-ground impact. Supporters and champions are invited to help scale the movement and nourish futures across the U.S.
