We meet on Sundays 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ธ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ต ๐จ๐ฆ๐ (HSS or HSS USA) is a 501(c)(3), Voluntary, non-profit, social, educational, and cultural organization. ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ or ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ต, as the organization is popularly known, aims to coordinate the ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ to ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ, ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ, and advance ideals and values of ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ for global peace and harmony.
๐๐ฆ๐ฆ conducts regular ๐๐ฎ๐น๐๐ฒ-๐ฏ๐ฎ
๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป programs for ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป, ๐๐ผ๐๐๐ต, and ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐๐น๐๐ through more than ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฌ branches nationwide. HSS also organizes ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ activities and community outreach projects.
๐๐ฆ๐ฆ conducts structured programs of regular ๐ฝ๐ต๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น and ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐๐ฎ๐น activities to develop strong character and ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฝ ๐๐ธ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ in its members (known as ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ธ for men and ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ธ๐ฎ for women), emphasizing values such as self-discipline, self-confidence, and a spirit of ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ณ๐น๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ (Sewa) for humanity. ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ encourages maintaining Hindu cultural identity in harmony with the larger community.
๐๐ฆ๐ฆ is inspired by the idea that the ๐๐ต๐ผ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐น๐ฑ ๐ถ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐น๐ and conducts activities across the United States in order to spread this message widely. Each chapter of HSS ฤฐs known as ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ธ๐ต๐ฎ, a weekly program for the entire family. Children's program in the shakha is called ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ด๐ผ๐ธ๐๐น๐ฎ๐บ where they learn about Hindu heritage through various means like ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐, ๐๐ต๐น๐ผ๐ธ๐ฎ๐, ๐๐ธ๐ถ๐๐, ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ด๐, ๐ฏ๐ต๐ฎ๐ท๐ฎ๐ป๐, ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ and ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ณ๐๐. They learn ๐๐ผ๐ด๐ฎ and have fun playing ๐ด๐ฎ๐บ๐ฒ๐ with other children. A strong emphasis is also laid on developing leadership qualities and becoming confident representatives of Hindu Dharma. Through service activities and outreach projects, a sense of ๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ฑ๐๐๐, ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐, and ๐๐ผ๐น๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐บ is fostered as children grow. While children enjoy learning in the Balagokulam, youth and adults also participate in activities such as yoga, games, songs, ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฐ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐, and ๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ on ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ๐ ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ. Strong emphasis is laid on the physical, mental, intellectual, and spiritual growth of each individual. Activities in weekly Shakha include Warmup Exercises, Yoga, Niyuddha (๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐), Games, Stories, Shlokas, Subhash*tams, Amrita Vachans, ๐ฃ๐๐ฏ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ฆ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด and more.
