Hospitals are major energy users. It takes a lot to provide sterile environments for operating rooms and other places where ultimate cleanliness is a must. Hospitals also must run 24/7, no exceptions.

Those parameters are a key reason NJ Alliance for Action recognized Goldman Copeland Consulting Engineers with a Distinguished Engineering Award for its engineering work for St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.

Goldman Copeland engineered the replacement of a chiller and air handling units, executed the rigging and connection of those devices, and performed the original energy audit for the hospital.

A secondary part of the project was additional energy conservation work for pump VFD retrofits, steam trap replacement and insulation upgrades throughout the complex.

All done as part of the recommendations of PSE&G’s Engineered Solutions Program, the result will be lowered energy costs for St. Peter’s operations.
