Today we held a fun and interactive Kids Nutrition Program! 🍎🥛 The children learned about the importance of fruits and dairy as part of a healthy diet. We also explored the “red, yellow, and green light” drink system to help identify which beverages should be enjoyed often and which should be limited.

A big thank you to CenterWell for inviting PVAMU Extension to provide education on the importance of staying hydrated during the summer heat! ☀️💧

Yesterday, participants had the opportunity to explore how much sugar is hidden in many popular beverages and learn healthier choices to stay hydrated. We wrapped up the session with some relaxing Tai Chi, promoting movement, balance, and overall wellness.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun and educational afternoon. Stay cool, stay active, and remember to drink plenty of water! 💙

💡 Safety Tip: Place an item you need at your destination—such as your purse, phone, employee badge, or lunch bag—in the back seat next to your child. This simple reminder can help ensure you always check the back seat before leaving your vehicle.

Never leave a child alone in a vehicle, even for a minute. Look before you lock. A few extra seconds can save a life.

Last week, we attended our Professional Development Conference in Houston. It is always a great opportunity to connect with the entire team from academics, research, and extension.

I especially enjoy spending time with our South Region colleagues to collaborate, share ideas, and discuss the impactful programs being implemented throughout Texas. Grateful for the opportunity to learn, network, and continue working together to better serve our communities!
