It was so rewarding for EAAA to spend time with the City of Edina City of Edina Arts & Culture Commission (ACC) this past week. The City of Edina Arts & Culture Grant helped to sustain our capstone event: Our May Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month Festival — for the third year in a row.

We are so thankful to walk together with ACC in our shared missions of building a vibrant community through empowering arts and culture endeavors! We could not be more grateful.

It was also extra special that our friend and partner at 50th & France, Director Rebecca Sorensen also presented at the meeting! Be on the lookout for Diwali 2026!

Following tradition, EAAA walked strong in visibility and empowerment at this year’s 4th of July Parade in Edina -- and also to honor, remember, and celebrate Raja. The 4th of July Parade held special significance as a community and family event for Raja and his Dad, Srinath.

We have always walked in the parade to show our Edina pride and will continue to do so but each year, we will now also honor Raja while we celebrate EAAA and recognize our great Edina and American community on this special day.

For EAAA, Raja’s impact was immeasurable. Whether as chair of the inaugural Diwali Committee or within leadership meetings, Raja truly embodied EAAA’s mission of intergenerational collaboration, rooted in genuine care and consideration of others. Beyond EAAA initiatives, Raja was a true friend and partner in advocating for the needs of the Edina community.

On the evening of Thursday, June 18th, 2026, we gathered together as friends, family, and neighbors to reflect, remember, and celebrate Raja for the love that he gave, the memories he created, and the lasting impact he made during his life with us.

It was a beautiful summer evening and Raja's spirit was with us. Raja is missed every day and we will honor his legacy by making choices and living our lives in ways that Raja would be proud of.
