Last Monday we made 1,157 sandwiches, bringing our 2026 total to 36,936 sandwiches! 🥪💛
But the number isn’t really the reason we do this.
On Mondays, volunteers come together to make sandwiches that are donated to the Tacoma Rescue Mission to help feed people in our community who are experiencing food insecurity.
For some people, it may be one small meal, but, it’s also one less thing they have to worry about that day.
Last night we had some Cub Scouts join us, along with a couple of new volunteers. And one of our favorite things to hear is, “I saw what you guys were doing and wanted to get involved.” Because that’s exactly what we want. ❤️
You don’t need a ton of free time. You don’t need to commit every week. You don’t need to sign up. And there is no age requirement.
Come help us on Mondays from 5:00–6:30 PM. Stay for 20 minutes or stay the whole time. Make sandwiches at home and drop them off. Start a peanut butter or jelly drive at your work, school, office, neighborhood or organization. Donate supplies, or simply share what we do so the next person who wants to help can find us.
We are all volunteers. We understand that everyone has different amounts of time, money and energy to give. Give what you can, however you can. It all matters.
🥪 This week we especially need sandwich bags and jelly.
You don’t have to do something huge to make a difference. Sometimes it really does start with making a sandwich. 💜
